Weather Resistant Storage for Outdoor Yards

Outdoor racking provides a strong and reliable way to store pallets, materials, and heavy inventory where indoor warehouse space isn’t available. Our galvanised racking systems are specifically designed for outdoor use, offering weather resistant racking that stands up to rain, sun, and changing conditions across Australian environments. This means you can keep your yard organised and maximise storage capacity without worrying about premature rust or corrosion.

Galvanised racking is ideal for businesses that handle large volumes of stock outside, such as construction suppliers, manufacturing yards, stone and timber merchants, and any business that uses outdoor areas as part of their daily operations. These systems combine the strength and flexibility of pallet racking with the durability needed for open-air storage.

Key Features and Benefits

Built for Outdoor Environments

This outdoor racking system uses galvanised steel components that are rust resistant and weather tolerant. The galvanised finish helps the racking maintain performance and appearance even when exposed to moisture or sun.

Strong and Reliable Load Support

Outdoor racking supports palletised goods securely and can be configured with multiple beam levels to suit your storage density and load requirements. This system can be configured to allow several levels per bay, helping you make better use of vertical yard space.

Flexible Configurations

Our outdoor racking is available in a range of frame heights and beam levels, allowing you to tailor the system to your stock size and available space. Whether you need a single standalone bay, or a full run of racking for high volume storage, there’s a configuration to match.

Weather Resistant Design

The galvanised finish delivers weather resistance that outperforms standard pallet racking in outdoor conditions, reducing the need for frequent maintenance or premature component replacement.

Materials Used

Galvanised racking uses high-quality steel with a protective zinc finish. This weather resistant coating helps prevent rust and corrosion, making it a much better choice for outdoor storage compared with standard indoor pallet racking. As a result, this racking system delivers greater longevity and a lower cost of ownership when used in exposed environments, such as open yards and construction sites.

Typical Use-Cases

Outdoor racking is popular with businesses that store stock outdoors on a day-to-day basis. Common applications include:

  • Construction yards storing building materials and supplies
  • Manufacturing facilities with external storage areas
  • Timber, stone, brick, or landscaping suppliers
  • Logistics hubs needing overflow pallet storage outside

Galvanised pallet racking is a great option to supplement existing storage systems and indoor racking setups. We also offer a range of indoor racking such as our new pallet racking, great for a fresh setup, or our used pallet racking for a cost-effective solution.

Galvanised Pallet Racking vs Standard Powdercoated Pallet Racking

Standard pallet racking is usually powder coated and designed for indoor environments, where it is shielded from weather exposure. In contrast, galvanised racking is specifically engineered to resist moisture and surface corrosion, making it more suited to outdoor or semi-exposed yards.

Choosing galvanised racking helps protect your investment by ensuring components remain structurally sound and less prone to rust when regularly exposed to weather.

Care and Maintenance

While galvanised racking is designed for outdoor conditions, simple maintenance keeps it performing well. Periodically check uprights, beams, and connections for signs of wear, ensure pallets are correctly positioned, and keep drainage clear around the base of racks to avoid sitting water. Regular inspections help you maintain a safe and efficient outdoor storage area.

Buying Guidance

When selecting outdoor racking, consider:

  • Load requirements: How heavy are your pallets and materials?
  • Space availability: What yard dimensions and clearances do you have?
  • Accessibility: Is there clear access for forklifts to access packs and manoeuvre?
  • Configuration: How many levels do you need and what beam lengths suit your pallet sizes?

Because every site and stock type differs, our team can help you design the right outdoor racking layout and provide a tailored quote based on your specific requirements.
